Obituary of Eric Scott Hoffman

Eric Scott Hoffman, 44, of Fairmont, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024. He was born on October 12, 1979, a son of Beverly Ann (Cain) Hoffman and the late Gary Adam Hoffman. In addition to his mother, Eric is survived by his siblings, Gary and Tracy Hoffman of Barrackville, and Julie and Jeremy Hout of Gallipolis, OH. Eric is also survived by his niece and nephews, Adam Hoffman, Aaron Hoffman, Elizabeth Hout, and Nathan Hout. Eric was a 1999 graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and graduated from Fairmont State College where he achieved his degree in Business. He was employed by Lowe’s in Clarksburg, WV in the receiving department. Prior to his time at Lowe’s, Eric was employed with Mon Power as a Call Center Supervisor. Eric was a member of the local VFW Post #629. He was an avid fisherman and loved camping and hiking to the Tygart River. Memorial donations may be made in Eric’s name to the Marion County Humane Society, 2731 Locust Ave., Fairmont, WV 26554. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588. Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 4p.m. until 8.pm., and on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 10a.m. until 11a.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on April 11, 2024 at 11a.m. Following the service, a graveside committal will be held at the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Enterprise, WV.
